AG AI Pro is proud to share a major update from our work with Sprig Aerospace in West Kentucky.
Sprig has reached an important milestone with the XFold Dragon H1000, a large unmanned aircraft platform now operating under an FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate for research and development. That certificate is not a formality. It is the FAA granting a specific aircraft permission to fly for defined research purposes, under defined conditions, with the paperwork to match. Anyone who has worked through the Part 137 process for agricultural aircraft knows what that documentation takes. For a platform this size, it is the difference between a prototype in a hangar and an aircraft that can legally do real work in a real field.
AG AI Pro is now a full partner in that program. The aircraft being built in Kentucky will join our fleet once it is completed.
Why a larger agricultural drone matters
Most of what we do today runs on a fleet built for precision rather than scale. We have four aircraft in operation now and expect to be at six shortly. They map fields, they read crop stress, and they apply inputs where the data says inputs are needed. That combination is what has let us cover ground in Idaho, Arizona, Iowa and Hawaii without asking a grower to change anything about how they already farm.
A larger platform does not replace any of that. It extends it. More payload and more endurance means fewer trips back to the truck, more acres in a single window, and the ability to work fields that are simply too large to be practical for a smaller airframe. When a weather window is eight hours wide and the field is a thousand acres, the size of the aircraft stops being a specification and starts being the whole job.
What a digital twin does for a working field
The Sprig program is not only about the airframe. It is about building digital twin capability into real agricultural environments.
A digital twin is a working model of an actual field, built from real data and kept current as that data changes. Not a map made once in the spring and filed away. A model that knows what the ground looked like last week, what changed after the last rain, where the stress showed up first, and what was applied where. Every flight adds to it. Over a season it stops being a picture and starts being a record.
That is the part we care about most. AG AI Pro has always been a documentation company as much as a drone company. We have scanned more than 3,000 acres with our own analytics, and the value in that has never been the imagery by itself. It is being able to say what a field looked like on a specific date, what was done about it, and what happened next. The same principle applies to what NDVI imagery actually tells you: a single flight is a snapshot, a season of flights is evidence. Growers know their ground better than any software will. What they usually do not have is a record precise enough to settle an argument or support a decision two seasons later.
A digital twin built from certified aircraft, flown under real conditions, in real fields, is that record.
Built in the field, not in a lab
What makes this program worth talking about is where it is happening. This is not university research on a test plot. It is an aircraft development effort running in working West Kentucky agriculture, with an FAA research certificate attached to it and farmers on the other side of the outcome.
That matters because agriculture is unforgiving of technology that only performs in ideal conditions. Wind, dust, heat, uneven ground and a narrow application window are not edge cases in this business. They are Tuesday. Anything that is going to survive in a fleet has to be built where those conditions are the default.

For now, the headline is simple. AG AI Pro is a full partner in a certified research aircraft program, that aircraft is coming into our fleet, and the intelligence layer we have been building over four seasons is about to get a great deal more capable.
